Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training for Schools
At ER Training, we provide practical Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training for schools in Doncaster and across South Yorkshire, Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.
This focused 1 hour 15 minute face-to-face practical session has been designed specifically for schools and educational settings to support their allergy and anaphylaxis arrangements in response to Benedict’s Law and current school allergy guidance.
The practical session focuses on recognising and responding to anaphylaxis, administering emergency adrenaline and managing asthma-related emergencies.
Important – Allergen Awareness eLearning Is Also Required

ER Training's online Allergy & Anaphylaxis Awareness for Schools course can be purchased separately for £10 per person + VAT.

Benedict’s Law & Allergy Management in Schools
Changes introduced following Benedict’s Law have placed greater emphasis on allergy awareness, staff preparedness and effective emergency procedures within schools.
Schools need to ensure that allergy management is considered across the whole setting and that staff understand both how to reduce the risks associated with allergens and how to respond when a serious allergic reaction occurs.
ER Training therefore offers a two-part approach:
1. Allergen Awareness eLearning
Completed individually online to provide the wider allergen-awareness knowledge required by staff.
2. Face-to-Face Anaphylaxis & Asthma Practical Training
A 1 hour 15 minute practical session giving staff the skills and confidence to recognise and respond to an anaphylactic or asthma emergency.
Together, these provide schools with a comprehensive approach to staff Allergen & Anaphylaxis Awareness and emergency response training.

-
Emergency First Aid in Schools
-
Paediatric First Aid
-
Emergency First Aid at Work
Where your staff are already attending one of these courses, you may not need to arrange a separate practical anaphylaxis session.

Please contact our team and we can advise on the most appropriate training route for your staff.
Why Anaphylaxis Training Matters
Anaphylaxis is a rapid and potentially life-threatening medical emergency.
Severe allergic reactions can develop quickly, and school staff may be the first people available to recognise what is happening and provide emergency assistance.
Practical training helps staff understand:
-
What anaphylaxis looks like
-
When emergency adrenaline is required
-
How to administer an adrenaline device correctly
-
When to call 999
-
How to support and monitor a pupil until emergency help arrives
Our training is practical, engaging and designed to give staff confidence rather than simply providing theoretical knowledge.
